Scotch 2242 Electrical Tape is an economical, common objective, rubber tape. The tape is a very conformable, linerless EPR (Ethylene Propylene Rubber) based electrical insulating tape. The tape is designed for use in splicing and terminating wires and cables rated up to 90°C. The tape will meet industry specifications for flame retardance and has the necessary physical and electrical properties to supply instant moisture seals and void–free buildup.
3M(TM) 2242 Linerless Electrical Rubber Tape is put to use for all-voltage splicing, jacketing, general insulating.

It has very bad adhesive properties and also it does not fuses to itself, edge always remains open and unfolds itself in several hours. I'm using coax seal, and decided to try this one, but looks like this product is total failure.

A friend gave a piece of a roll of this tape. I found the 3M product number on the inside of the roll and search that number on Amazon and wow there it was. I highly recommend this product especially for taping wire that is apt to be exposed to outside. A great product.
