Customer Reviews

This is the environmmentally responsible solder to use because it does not have any lead in it. And this appears to be the best value that I could find on Amazon or anywhere else that I looked. The shipping was extremely fast, less than two days. It was even faster than Amazon Prime. I ordered a soldering iron at the same time on Amazon Prime and this solder arrived a day earlier than the soldering iron. The shipping time at the time of my order make it look like it would take a week to arrive. So this is a good supplier. Anyway, it melts and performs just like regular solder.

I've been soldering since I was 10 (that's 25 years) and was trained by my fathers employee's. We built computer parts, terminal ends, and repaired everything in the computer industry (you gotta remember that's when we BUILT and manufactured all computers here in the states and THATS what we did).
The solder is lead free. Lead is what makes solder "stick". So removing it removes the stick. Maybe I'm a die-hard or stubborn. The silver solder works but it takes 2-3 times longer to do the job and alot more 4 letter words and frustration.
Oh and the important part... The tag says Made In USA... But the box says Product of Mexico and after a call to the company, Yep it's made in Mexico but wound onto smaller spools in USA. They employ 19 people in the US and she said maybe 100 in Mexico. Why? I asked too. She said they don't have to conform to health and safety laws in Mexico... SO probably better they don't make it here but I think the people in the Mexico factory probably prefer the safety info was in Spanish so they understand they are cutting their one and only life short for a couple peso's.
So on principle I probably won't buy this stuff again. I would advise nobody does. But hey we like things cheap and if we don't see it occurring then it doesn't matter if it's made with the blood of children...
