The Gardner Bender Underground Cable Splice Kit offers you total waterproof installation for UF cable. The kit is designed for UF cables minimum 14/three, 12/two and maximum eight/three. The kit consists of a set screw splice connector and one particular eight-inch x .33-inch diameter heavy wall polyolefin heat shrink tubing with a watertight adhesive lining. This product is absolutely easy to use and saved my bunns after an outdoor ditch run turned out to be just 10 feet longer then expected (250 feet) due to a water pipe I had to avoid.
As mentioned, it is very easy to use. The glue in the heatshrink is helping to make this a water proof connection and it is very solid all the way around. My little propane torch (for soldering copper) worked great for the heatshrink.
And on top of all that, it was the only legal underground extension system I could find that was actually affordable !

I used this splice to repair cut cord that supplied an underwater lake irrigation pump. The splice was easy to use. Good product.
